Investment Associate - Full time

Lapiluz is recruiting a full time Investment Associate whose main responsibilities will include:
  • In depth analysis of potential social venture / venture philanthropy opportunities for Lapiluz’ clients, including market analysis, competitive SWOT analysis for the relevant businesses, due diligence, business plan development, modelling and valuation of potential investments;
  • Involvement in identifying and building of new partnership opportunities with other actors and stakeholders active in the field of (venture) philanthropy such as foundations, development organisations and corporate CSR programs;
  • Assist Lapiluz’ managing director in scoping new client targets
Candidates should have the following skills and experience
  • University degree at Master Level in applied economics, political science, international politics or similar; and recently completed an MBA from a top 20 university;
  • Minimum three years of relevant work experience, either in the field of finance (private equity, venture capital of banking), management consulting or international development;
  • Good understanding of issues related to private sector development in emerging markets;
  • Excellent numeric and financial modelling skills with demonstrable experience;
  • Ability to manage a number of work-streams concurrently and semi-independently in a dynamic high paced work environment;
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in English required, practical knowledge of other European languages such as French, Spanish, German or Dutch is a major plus;
Given the early stage and social-impact oriented nature of Lapiluz’ current operations, the specific tasks and responsibilities might still change over the course of the coming months.

The Investment Associate can be based either in London or New York City, but might have to travel to any of the client sites in Central and Latin America or Africa. A competitive salary with benefits will be offered.
